Willenhall made the long trek up the M6 to Stoke to take on 2nd from bottom APS. The girls were hoping for a slightly easier game after the bruising encounters of the last couple of games.

Ten minutes before kick off the ref was close to calling match off on what was a bog off a pitch. After a discussion with players and management all were prepared to play. Game On!

Willenhall started the match and attacked APS from the off keen not to make the same mistake they did at Atherstone.

On 2 minutes saw the opening goal with Riley slotting home from a Kinsis pass. 0-1

A couple of minutes later Riley shot wide after a good pass from White.

There was no let up from Willenhall and on 11 minutes the much improved Hopkins made a mazy run into the box only to be brought down by clumsy challenge. Penalty to the Reds.

Without there regular penalty taker on the pitch Byrne was given the job, and powered her shot into the corner. 0-2.

APS restarted but Willenhall were quickly won possession and Kinsis powered down the wing and whipped a cross into the box only for Riley to miss-hit her attempted volley.

APS were encamped on there 18 yard box and on 15 minutes Riley intercepted a back pass and rounded the keeper to score her 2nd goal of the game. 0-3

Riley went on one of her trademark runs beating half the APS team and unselfishly pulled the ball back to an on rushing White her slid in under pressure, but put her shot inches past the post.

Willenhall were starting to play some nice football and on 24 minutes Hopkins played the ball to Riley who crossed to R.Jones to smack in off the cross bar, scoring her first goal for the club. 0-4

A minute later Rachel fed Riley for her to complete her hat-trick. 0-5

Hopkins had 30 yard effort just go over the bar and Kinsis saw her cross cleared for a corner.
From the resulting corner Kinsis had a 20 yard shot go close.

Half-time 0-5

Plant was replaced by Martin for the start of the second half L Jones was brought into midfield from the back.

Willenhall carried on where they left off in the first half, obviously still hungry for goals.

White and Hopkins had shots saved by the keeper, who despite the scoreline was having a good game.

Hopkins got the goal she deserved on 55 minutes. The ball fell to her on the edge off the box and under pressure she calmly picked her spot and placed the ball low into the bottom corner. 0-6

On 58 minute L Jones showed she hadn't lost her scoring touch after playing at the back. She charged into the box from the left wing and tapped home from close range. 0-7

White again shot wide and then had a goal ruled out for off side.

White thought it wasn't going to be a happy mothers day when she shot from the left, Riley came charging in and tapped the goal bound shot in, only for the linesman flag to go up and deem Riley offside. No goal.

At last though on 71 minutes White scored after Riley set her up.

APS keeper made the save of the match from a power driver of a shot from the edge of the box from Kinsis.

From the resulting corner the ball fell to S. Parkes her mishit her shot but it fell to Byrne in the box who swivelled and hit her shot into the corner. 0-9

On 74 minutes T Parkes came on for her first start since before Christmas after along lay off to replace Kinsis.

On 79 minutes Riley shot wide.

On 81 minutes APS got a consolation goal. With Willenhall players remonstrated with the ref to stop play after a tackle had left T Parkes down, he aloud play to go on and APS forward chipped the ball over Nicholas. 1-9
