Coseley Town 6                Willenhall Town 8

Willenhall put in a poor performance on a very narrow pitch, against a very poor Coseley Town side, who were made to look more like a top of the table side. The girls really struggled to get to grips in the arctic conditions.

Willenhall however did take the lead on 2 minutes when Stacey Parkes magnificent pass found Rachel Kinsis who crossed for Jo Byrne to acrobatically head the ball into the back of the net.

Abi Riley had a shot saved on 11 minutes and Stacey Parkes found the home keeper in good form on 19 minutes when she held onto a powerful shot.  Rachel Kinsis struggled through the game with a calf injury and had a tame shot saved on 24 minutes. Willenhall finally extended their lead on 25 minutes when Abi Riley fired home from Rachel Kinsis pass.

It then went pear shaped for the Reds when Coseley scored twice in the 26th minute to make it 2~2. Coseley started to get on top as the Reds looked shell-shocked and it stayed that way until half-time.

The injured Rachel Kinsis was replaced at half-time by Maxine Wren and had a roasting at half-time by manager Kim Lunn & Helen Crozier.

Willenhall fell behind as Coseley caught them cold in the 48th minute with a well worked goal.

Willenhall then stepped up a gear & Abi Riley's driving run on 52 minutes saw her shoot wide, a two goal burst in the space of a minute saw the Reds restore their advantage. Stacey Parkes equalised on 54 minutes then Maxine Wren slid in on 55 minutes to make it 4~3 beating Abi Riley to the ball.

Jo Byrne then a had terrific chance to make it 5 on 58 minutes but saw her shot cannon off the post, but she made amends a minute later with a rasping 25 yard effort which left the keeper well beaten. Coseley pulled it back to 5~4 on 60 minutes, before Abi Riley made it 6~4 with a low shot  on 65  minutes then on 70 minutes Lauren Jones missed a penalty when she hit the ball straight at the keeper.

Abi Riley completed her hat-rick on 73 minutes by lobbing the ball over the Coseley keeper, but 2 minutes later Cosley hit back to make it 7~5.

Jo Byrne completed her hat-trick on 85 minute with yet another header and there was still time for Coseley to pull a goal back in injury time when Lizzie Plant spilled the ball into her own net.

Willenhall's new coach Scott Turner would not have been to impressed with the performance and he will be making the girls work really hard in training over the next few weeks to rectify the schoolgirl errors that seem to be creeping in to recent performances.
