It’s 14 without defeat

Willenhall Ladies extended their unbeaten run to an amazing 14 games as they comfortably beat an inept Cottage Farm side, even with 3 regulars missing.

 

The girls had to battle back from conceding an early goal, but soon equalised when hot-shot Abby Riley latched onto a through ball and slotted in via the post.

 

Jo Byrne then made it 2-1 when she hit home a left footed after some slack defending from the home side.

 

The Reds then began to dictate the game and extended their lead  further when the lively Rachael Kinisis set up Abby Riley to net her 6th goal of the season, slotting home passed the on rushing keeper.

 

The hard working Tina Hand should have made it 4-1, but she failed to connect with Rachael Kinisis cross and the keeper gathered.

 

A lovely four-girl move then saw Jo Byrne's powerful left foot shot go just wide.

 

Tina Hand had a good chance just before half-time, only to see her shot parried away by the home keeper.

 

A Minute into the second half Cottage Farm reduced the deficit when they were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the area and home side's number 9 struck the ball straight it into the top corner.

 

Willenhall finally made the game safe in the 59th minute when Rachael Kinisis curled a delightful shot form 20 yards over the keeper’s out-stretched hand.
