Wrockwardine Wood Jacs 1   Willenhall Town 2

Willenhall maintained their unbeaten run in after winning this controversial game 2~1 on a very difficult playing surface. The Reds made one change to last weeks staring line-up with Lizzie Plant replacing Toni Parkes who was unwell.

Abi Riley forced the home keeper to make the first save of the game in the opening minutes when her shot was grasped by the low to her right.

Jacs had their first sight on goal on 7 minutes, when they broke through the defence & shot well wide & a minute later they should have been ahead but again shot wide from a good position on the left.

Sherrylee played a great ball in from the left on 17 minutes, but Jo Byrne dragged her left foot shot wide of the post, then the home keeper made a double block from Abi Riley & Lauren Jones before Rachel Kinsis fired over the bar.

Rachel Kinsis & Tina Hand both missed chances for the Reds who were struggling to play the ball along the bumpy surface, while the Jacs best chance fell on 31 minutes with the lively 10 hammering the ball over the bar from 12 yards.

Stacey Parkes burst down the left & set up Abi Riley, but her shot was held by the keeper, the Jacs immediately broke down the right & 9 slotted the ball home on 34 minutes to give the home side the lead.

Manger Kim Lunn read the riot act to the Ladies at half-time & this seemed to spur the Reds on as straight from the kick-off Abi Riley broke down the left & lofted the ball over the keeper to make 1~1.

A good ball by Lauren Jones found Abi Riley but the keeper bravely gathered at her feet & on 56 minutes Stacey Parkes struck a loose ball staright at the busy home keeper. The keeper then denied Abi Riley on 62 minutes saving with her feet as the Reds started to step up a gear.

Lindsay Clews replaced Di Baker on 67 minutes & a minute later Abi Riley broke the offside trap but shot wide.

Willenhall then had a goal controversially ruled out on 77 minutes when Abi Riley broke clear of the defence & fired the ball at crossbar and it clearly bounced over the goal-line & to the astonishment of the visitors the Referee & the home Assistant Referee did not award the goal.

This incident then spurred the visitors even more & on 79 minutes Abi Riley added her second of the game striking home Stacey Parkes pass to make it 2~1 to Willenhall.
